Crab Claws

This decal beautifully merges the region's two most unshakeable pillars of identity: deeply rooted Christian faith and the cultural obsession with the Atlantic blue crab. The collaboration is heavily inspired by the historical legacy of the Tri-County area as the literal birthplace of religious freedom in the Maryland colony, a heritage that remains a foundational part of daily life for generations of local families. By interweaving traditional Celtic style knotwork with distinct blue crab claws, the design cleverly mimics the woven, overlapping texture of a classic wire crab pot or the intricate lines of a waterman’s trotline. For locals, this symbol is a powerful visual representation of a life fully integrated with the water—a way to proudly display their spiritual devotion alongside their heritage of working-class pride, backyard crab feasts, and a deep respect for the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay.

This design is the ultimate local visual proof that in Southern Maryland, the Holy Trinity consists of the Father, the Son, and a heavy dusting of Old Bay seasoning.
